The MD 18 is a hydro-static lawnmower with an 83 cm deck with dual cutting function, equipped with a 'Quick Shift' lever to switch directly from the driver's seat from mulching to side discharge.
It is an ideal lawnmower for mowing lawns where an excellent finish is required, even on slopes.
Its low ground clearance makes it ideal for undergrowth work.
The seat is equipped with suspension to offer great comfort to the operator.
The MD 18 is equipped with the Briggs & Stratton Professional EXi INTEK 7160 OHV 656 cc twin-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 15.2 HP (18 HP Gross power).

The single-blade cutting deck is made entirely of steel, the blade ends are floating shock-resistant with a special cutting edge profile that favors precise cutting in all grass conditions.

The cutting height adjustment ranges from 2.5 to 8 cm and is made by means of a 6-position lever. The same lever has an additional transfer position that allows the entire cutting deck to be lifted off the ground, automatically stopping the rotation of the blades to easily overcome kerbs and obstacles.

The tension of the deck belt is self-adjusting. The entire deck is kept parallel to the ground at all times, improving cutting quality even after years of use!

The blades are engaged via an electric button located near the steering wheel that activates the PTO's electromagnetic clutch.

The 'Quick Shift' lever allows you to change cutting mode while comfortably seated in the driver's seat, even during cutting and without interrupting work. There is no need to change blades.

Side discharge cutting is practical when the grass is high, suitable for those who do not cut regularly.
The cut grass is channeled into the steel side casing. The protruding casing is constructed in accordance with standards, ensuring optimum safety for the operator. It is also equipped with an anti-skid roller.
As an additional measure to improve reliability and impact protection, the casing hinges are located on the inside of the casing.

The Mulching cut, which is ideal for regular cutting, finely chops up the cuttings, thereby promoting the re-absorption of nutrients by the soil.
In addition, Mulching cutting can be performed after the first pass in rear discharge cutting for a better finish.

The transmission consists of a hydro-static axle equipped with a fan to cool the oil, an essential feature to increase the efficiency of the transmission by reducing its operating temperature. The speed is infinitely variable from 0 to 9 km/h and allows the precise choice of forward speed.

The tilting front axle keeps the four wheels attached to the ground even in very uneven conditions.

The differential lock is standard, is controlled by a foot pedal and is indispensable in low grip conditions on slopes or if the terrain is extremely uneven and the machine remains on 3 wheels.

The mechanical steering is smooth and precise, the inner turning radius is 45 cm and allows excellent maneuverability even on paths full of obstacles such as plants, lampposts, etc.

The MD 18 is compact, equipped with a roll bar, a low center of gravity, an optimal weight distribution, and is built for maximum stability and operator safety.
The seat placed close to the ground, the vertical-axis endothermic engine positioned very low down, the ventral plate placed exactly between the 4 wheels and the battery placed on the front axle, make the machine exceptionally stable.

The MD 18 is fitted with a mechanically suspended seat as standard, and the suspension can be adjusted according to the operator's weight: driving is comfortable even after many hours of work!
The feet rest on a foot board that can be adjusted to 2 positions.

The driving controls are ergonomic, and the advance lever allows precise speed selection. With the help of the brake pedal, the advance lever automatically returns to zero and the 4 wheels are braked.
The parking brake acts on the rear wheels.
The blades are engaged by means of an electric button located near the steering wheel.

All components, from the simplest to the most complex, are of high quality.
Frame, cutting transmission, plate, everything is built by Grillo in Italy, using the best materials and the latest technology to achieve high, consistent and 100% controlled quality.
The painting of Grillo machines is double-layer electrostatic powder. First there are the washing and preparation baths, then a first protective layer is applied which, with baking in the oven, is the best base for the finishing application. The second layer of paint and a further baking at 190°C give the characteristic hardness and gloss.
The Grillo MD 18 is meticulously assembled and thoroughly tested by specialized personnel. The final testing of the MD 18 includes a test with the engine running to check all functionality. A further and final guarantee for a high quality product.

Like all Grillo products, the MD 18 is designed and built to last and retain its value for many years.
Grillo products are distributed and serviced extensively by Grillo's network of specialist dealers. Spare parts are available even after many years.
